About me

Hi there! My name is Noah Worden and I am an Industrial Designer from Virginia Tech. My professional and personal goal is to help accelerate the introduction of sustainable biomaterials into modern day products. 

 

I consider myself to be an international nomad - having been born in Peru, raised in Guatemala, learned English at the age of 7 in the U.S, then moved to Thailand to finished high school, and finally returning back to the U.S. to graduate college - you can say I am fairly well traveled for someone my age (23). I attribute my fortune of having traveled so much to my mother, as her work for the U.S. Embassy had us moving around the world roughly every 2-4 years.

All this exposure has made me see the world through multiple lenses and perspectives, mainly in a cultural and socio-economic context, and has permeated into my design initiatives. I find myself drawing inspiration from the places I've been and seen - from the elegant bamboo structures in the southern of Thailand, to the baroque architecture of Guatemala and its antique churches. ​
