Post-Graduation Work

The projects below were completed post-graduation predominantly in residential and commercial fields. Many of these photos are "in-process" and are a better reflection of the process than the end product, as some of these are still nearing completion. 01

"The Temple" - Pool House

This was a residential project based in Arlington, Virginia where I co-designed and drafted the architectural drawings of the concept. From ideation to construction, being involved throughout the whole process was a great learning opportunity and was very rewarding. Likewise, the addition of Asian woodworking elements like the lotus flower, elephant table, and elephant windows all help to contribute to the Asian inspired pool house.

Mr. A's - Rooftop Restaurant

Based in San Diego, California, Mr. A's is a famous dining spot with a rich history. Dating back to its 1950's origins, working on the restoration project which involved removing and replacing the two bars and service stations with warm red African Sapele interior facades.

03

Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection - Elevator Surround

The Hotel de Coronado in San Diego had asked for a three-story elevator surround constructed from steel and stain-less steel woven mesh screens. This structure was secured to the elevator shaft and built up from the bottom up to the third floor. This two month long project involved lots of welding, grinding, planning, jib-making, site-planning, site-safety (as it was a full blown construction site), and assembling all while coordinating with site managers, architects, engineers, drywallers and so on.

04

Clayton's Bakery - Grab n Go

Owners of Clayton's Bakery based in Coronado Island, San Diego were looking to add a "grab-n-go" add-on to their existing bakery. We were in charge of measuring,  designing, and constructing all the cabinets, butcher block slides, countertops supports (minus the marble tops), and food display cabinets for easy grab-n-go style operation.

05

White Oak - Dining Table

This white oak dining table was for a family outside of San Diego, California who were looking for a minimal and hardware-less table for the dining room. They were inspired by the Japanese "Miyadaiku" style of woodworking which does not require glue and/or fasteners, so many of the elements of the table are infact friction fit and/or wedged in order to become tight and rigid. This project involved meticulous chisel work and managing very splintery white oak boards.
